AN INTRODUCTION

This documentary is under the guidance of Amherst College's Pioneer Valley Soundscapes project. The film is an examination of the history, dynamics, and functions of Easthampton's Flywheel Neighborhood Arts Center. The filmmakers, Josh Landes and Olivia Smith, are students at Hampshire College and Amherst College respectively. The documentary intends to share Flywheel's story, look at the interplay of DIY culture with local community, and capture the institution as it finds its place in a new home, the historic town hall of Easthampton.
